Guard Up! Family Swordsmanship is located in Burlington, Massachusetts at 141 Middlesex Turnpike (next to the Burlington Mall) and is the largest swordsmanship school in the USA.

At Guard Up, our emphasis is more on personal growth and technical development than competitive training. Our priorities are your individual training goals.  Our environment is renown for being creative, interactive, fun and welcoming to all skill levels... from complete beginners to advanced students.

Our youth programs specialize in getting bright kids "unplugged" from the computer games and television and getting them physically, mentally and socially active in a setting that appreciates their uniqueness.  Where else can you FIGHT MONSTERS and EARN TREASURE while burning calories with your friends?

Guard Up! is more than a place to learn how to swordfight.  But we shouldn't understate our experience in the art of swordsmanship.  We are a United States Fencing Association (USFA) member school. 

Our instructors work closely with experts in Historical Weaponry to translate and extrapolate techniques from ancient texts for Historical Weapons.  And our facility hosts training seminars and workshops with some of the best known experts in the field of swordsmanship.

As well, our staff is constantly researching and developing curriculum for our courses to keep them fresh and exciting.  After all, swordsmanship isn't just our job... it's our passion.

Parents, go out for the evening and let us entertain your Gamer.  We are hosting a long night of pizza and games - both table top and live action!   With a room dedicated to Dungeons & Dragons, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic The Gathering or Pokemon... and another room for live roleplaying and combat.  We provide the pizza, drinks, games and plots.  Your kids provide the brain power and sweat.  For ages 9+

That's right... what better combination than Melt-Your-Mouth Food combined with some Swordfighting?  Don't worry, we will have "normal food" available for those of you who don't have asbestos stomachs.  Bring your spiciest dish to pass and see if you have what it takes to be dubbed the "Flame Warrior Chef"!  At the same time, we will be running Challenges for each of our classes where students can match their skills against students from other classes.  Compete in Youth Fencing, Adult Fencing, Team Fencing, T2 Fencing, Sport Sword, Kendo, Youth Martial Arts and more!

Learn how to make Chain Mail armor the way they did centuries ago.  We supply all of the tools and links.  You get to take home your own piece of armor or Chain Mail bracelet.  Some people stitch or knit to pass the time... we'll show you how to make armor!
